United Footwear

The United Footwear store on Fratton Road, Portsmouth, is an abandoned retail site with a unique history. Originally built as the Troxy Cinema, it was later converted into a discount shoe store that served the local community for years before closing down in 2017 / 2018.

On my exploration, I found the building to be in okay condition—not the worst I’ve seen, but definitely showing signs of decay. Pigeons have taken over the space, leaving feathers and droppings scattered throughout. Despite the damage, some parts of the interior remain intact, offering a glimpse into the building’s past life.

So happy to see the projector room. although only the carbon arc lamp unit remained. Also some arc lamps in other rooms..
